Having left the Corporate world of IT 7 years ago, I decide that I had some unfished business with education. I enrolled in university and studied history gaining a BA Hons Degree. Being nearly 40 I had to use what I studied so I set up my own history business with the goal of telling the tales from the past in an engaging, inspiring and immersive way. Being severely dyslexic I have always struggled with learning the ‘normal’ way and if I was going to set up my own history business then it had to deliver in a style that I would have wanted to have been taught in.
My business allows children to be creative, to use their amazing imaginations, to smell, touch and taste the past. History has such an important role to play in children’s futures as history is the way we learn from the past to create a better and brighter future for all. In the past 4 years I have met some amazing children all with the desire to learn, to be thrilled and to be inspired. There is no better feeling than see a kid go ‘wow’ when you engage them in the tales of the past and although setting up my business has been the hardest thing I’ve ever done, it is without doubt the best and most rewarding road I have and continue to travel.
As I always say #historyROCKS
